From the preface
"Today, on behalf of the FTC unit and the Army Staff Sergeant, I came with the collective will of all members to hand over the secret medal, which has never been given to anyone other than the FTC unit."
The vice commander of Fuji Training Center (commonly known as FTC) began his speech. This day was my Ground Self-Defense Force retirement party, which was held by volunteers and sponsored by the Eastern Area Mixed Group. Many comrades from the 40th Infantry Regiment located in Kokura, Kitakyushu, as well as comrades who shared the joys and sorrows of various parts of Japan gathered together. I was shaking hands with friends I hadn't seen in a long time and talking passionately when I appeared as a ``surprise guest.''
When the FTC deputy began speaking, the room instantly fell silent. Because the second-in-command of an enemy unit that had fought a fierce battle with the 40th Regiment with the goal of overthrowing the FTC began speaking.
The speech began in a tense atmosphere. First, I started talking in a slow tone about why I was attending the retirement party. Ten years have passed, more than 20 personnel changes have taken place, and most of the members of the FTC at that time have been replaced, but stories about the 40th Infantry Regiment and its regimental commander who fought fierce battles with FTC troops are still being passed down. This is the first time I've heard that.
At the strong request of current and former FTC members, especially sergeants, the FTC vice captain came from Fuji to attend the retirement party to present medals and talk about the fierce battles of that time.

This book is an expanded and re-edited version of the e-book ``40th Regiment VS Battle with Undefeated FTC Units,'' which depicts the battle between the 40th General Regiment stationed in Kokura, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and the undefeated Fuji Training Center opposing force. Thing.
How can we become stronger? This is a record of the Ground Self-Defense Force's front-line troops who devoted themselves to training in search of the answer.
